College Bound, Inc. Names Thelma Sanga as Program Director

Washington, D.C. — College Bound, Inc. announces the appointment of Thelma Sanga as Program Director.   As Program Director, she will oversee the coordination and implementation of all aspects of College Bound programs including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities.  She will work directly with Jessica Gibson, Program Coordinator, to meet specific program goals and strengthen the curriculum and programmatic thrust of College Bound.

Thelma completed her undergraduate studies at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC.  She completed her graduate studies at the University of New Hampshire with a major in Family Studies with a concentration in Adolescent Development.  She was most recently employed at the Kingsbury Day School as a Guidance Counselor, where she also developed curriculum and created and provided college and career planning services for students.  Thelma also has experience working with first generation students on transitional issues and has devoted time to issues surrounding equity and inclusion.

“I am elated to have Thelma come on-board with College Bound”, commented Kenneth Ward, Executive Director.  “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the College Bound team.  I am confident that her passion and drive will help to ensure that College Bound students are privy to top notched programs that will aid them in not only matriculating in college, but also graduating from college.”

After her first day on the job, Thelma remarked that, “I feel very privileged to be a part of an organization like College Bound that has such lasting effects on the lives of youth in the DC area.  I’m energized by the fact that our daily efforts will positively influence the decisions these young people will make as they transition into college and adulthood."
